8/14/13 Sharing His Word with Wisdom Wednesday

What do you consider Godly wisdom? Is having Biblical knowledge enough to make you wise? Is it how you respond to the information or knowledge you have?

Knowledge does not make intelligence and foolishness is not only for the ignorant. Someone well versed in scriptures of the Bible, has all the facts to make informed decisions and choices in their life based on their education of God’s Word.  While the person that lacks the knowledge of the Bible could not possibly have information, they needed to live the life God intended.  Herein lies the problem, some of the most educated Godly people make foolish decisions, by consciously choosing how and when they will listen to God, and then there are the ones that simply do not know better.  The ones that their relationship with Christ stops after church every Sunday or maybe they are believers who don’t go to church at all, may be the read the Bible only on special occasions or during trials, may be that is all they have ever known.   Nevertheless, there is a better way and your relationship with Christ can be as profound and fulfilling as you want it to be but it requires work on your part, a deep-rooted knowledge of God’s Word, faith, love, and ACTION!

James 1:19-27  (NASB)

Doers – Not Hearers Only

19 This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; 20 for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God. 21 Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls. 22 But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror; 24 for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was. 25 But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does.

Verse 25 is powerful! Don’t you want to live like that?

Let’s imagine a well-oiled machine; with many intricate parts that work in unison, timed together to perform their perfect function, if just one part becomes unaligned, fails or stalls, production halts until the part is restored or realigned to operational harmony.

Are you wondering how that applies to Christianity?

Well, a fully developed, devoted, active Christian functions like a well-oiled machine. Think of the 60 Christian Character Builders as the many intricate parts of your working machine, if they all work together in harmony, everything is in perfect working alignment with God’s will. Consequently, if one of those traits is not developed, becomes misaligned, or stops functioning, it negatively affects you by causing you stray from God’s path or worse completely abandon God’s path.

Do you want to be a person with action and no belief, or with belief but no knowledge? Of course not! Give yourself a spiritual tune up! Realign within you all the components of the Christian character builders and get yourself into God’s optimum working order.

Have a wonderful day and may God bless you always. Amen!

I am a daughter of God, a servant of the Lord, a wife to a patient husband, and a mama of two forgiving boys. God has placed these three men in my life needfully so. I thank Him for them everyday. And like so many of the Lord’s children, I am a work-of-glory-in-progress. I am on a journey to reclaim and renew my life in Christ. It took me 34 years to learn that when nothing else works, God does!
