8/20/13 Sharing His Word with Temptation Tuesday
James 1:13-15 (NASB)
13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. 14 But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. 15 Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death.
13 Let no one say when he is tempted (lured, enticed, persuaded), “I am being tempted (lured, enticed, persuaded) by God”; for God cannot be tempted (lured, enticed, persuaded) by evil (wickedness, iniquity, sin), and He Himself does not tempt (lure, entice, persuade) anyone. 14 But each one is tempted (lured, enticed, persuaded) when he is carried away (consumed, engrossed, occupied) and enticed (charmed, attracted, enthralled) by his own lust (desire, envy, longing, yearning). 15 Then when lust (desire, envy, longing, yearning) has conceived (formulated, imagined, pictured, perceived), it gives birth (dawn, begin, start) to sin (corrupt, immoral, transgression, wrongdoing); and when sin (corrupt, immoral, transgression, wrongdoing) is accomplished (complete, carried out, achieved), it brings forth death (loss, ruin, downfall, demise).
1) God does not tempt anyone; do not use that as a crutch or an excuse.
2) Control ungodly temptations by cutting them off at the root; do not allow them a foothold in your life.
3) Keep your relationship with God first place in your life He is more than enough to fulfill your every need.
Have a wonderful day and may God bless you always. Amen!
