Renew My Life In Christ

5 tips for the journey of a lifetime – all aboard!

Glad you’re aboard for this incredible journey of Spiritual growth, renewal and reclamation of who we are in Christ. Here are a few ‘need to know‘ tips prior to your departure. I hope they are helpful and serve you well during the most important trip of your life.

The \Weather\ as equated to the temptation and trials you experience in life (John 16:33).

1. The weather is unpredictable and subject to constant change. Expect moderate to severe rain, possibly a tropical storm or two. Earthquakes and landslides are prevalent throughout and prove extremely destructive. A beautiful sky on a warm sunny morning is no exception, without notice, the clear sky can give way to a terrifying twister of epic proportions within seconds (Hebrews 2:18, Hebrews 4:151 Corinthians 10:13, 1 Peter 1:7, 1 Peter 4;12-13, 1 Peter 5:10James 1:2-4, James 1:12-15, James 5:10-11Romans 5:3-5, Romans 12:12, Romans 8:182 Timothy 3:12).

All kidding aside, some the above correlations are NO JOKE. Regardless of context, they cannot be taken lightly in real-everyday-life. Some of them caused blessed souls to lose everything, including their lives – God bless them. I am simply trying – with all my dramatics – to awaken the fact that we face life-seeking threats on a daily basis from all sides. We need to prepare accordingly (James 4:7, 1 Peter 5:8) – armor up, blessed soldiers of the Lord, put on the whole Armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-20).

Packing\ Luggage\Necessary Items\ as equated to the extensive baggage we burden our lives with.

2. The Holy Bible – bring this item and this item alone – God’s Word (Hebrews 4:12, 2 Timothy 3:16) is absolutely essential to renewing our minds (Psalm 119:11, 2 Corinthians 4:16, Psalm 119:105).

Please do not pack your past, or any worldly influences, this includes any old fleshly beliefs, and negative self talk (2 Corinthians 5:17, Ephesians 4:22-24).

Interaction principles to help you \Engage\ with the locals.

3. Follow the Words of Jesus in the principle of John 13:34, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.” Find more interaction principles by clinking these Bible Gateway links – Luke 6:31-35John 15:13Romans 12:10, 1 John 3:171 John 4:11, 1 John 4:201 Peter 4:8.

A few ‘I Give God All The Glory’ praise principles to help you \Worship\ the Lord (Psalm 150:1-6).

4. ‘Where WOW is always NOW‘ – 4a.WOW = Worship Over World – where we actively choose to worship God over the meaningless noise of the World (Romans 12:2). 4b.WOW = World of Worship – where we remove the limitations of our worship and make the world our worship platform (Matthew 28:19-20).

You’re almost ready. Just one more thing, you need the \Road Map\ to help guide and keep you on the narrow path (Matthew 7:14).

5. Traveling can get messy, when we don’t know where we’re going we can easily get lost. Especially, when we take detours, shortcuts and side streets – forget about it. So here it is, walk by and follow the promptings of the Spirit (Romans 10:9Acts 2:38John 14:26, Galatians 13-25).

If you have any questions, now is the time to address them – please comment below and I’ll respond. I am also (God-Willing) working to create a longer, in-depth guidebook version of this too! In the meantime, prepare your heart and mind, get Spiritually geared up and ready to go boldly into the life God intended, the life Jesus paid for.

Get up, show up, and do it every day.

A quick word (real talk) from me:

You can have as little or as much of this – of God – as you want, it is up to you. This is not an easy process, ‘works of flesh’ do not die quietly. They kick, and scream, bite, and punch. You may cry and want to give up. But stay your course dear one, you are tough enough. Be courageous, God is with you always (Joshua 1:9). God promises nothing can take you from Him (Romans 8:31-39). And, I am here – well, we are here for one another. Let’s make the ‘God thing,’ our ‘thing’. I’m praying over you.

I humbly pray these heartfelt words of love over you.

Dear craving, longing, adventurous soul,

I humbly pray from the deepest depths of my heart that God completely encircles you during the process to reclaim and renew your life in Jesus Christ. For your complete and total surrender to God’s Will. Cling to Him and keep Him ever in your view. Allow Him to fill and take over your heart. He wants you as much as you want Him. Open every inch of yourself to Him, nothing about you is too small or insignificant to Him. Tear down the walls and barriers you’ve put around our powerful God and allow Him to go to work in your life. Ask Jesus to come in reign over your life and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you all the while. In Jesus’ powerful name, I pray.

God Bless You!

  2. Dawn, I’m so glad you’re here 🙂 The struggle is real, lol! The flesh continually attempts to take credit for His Great Works. Mix in satan’s disruptions and we’ve got some serious issues to handle. Reclaiming and renewing ourselves in Christ is a daily choice and a constant battle against evil! This page is a small portion of the actual journey, there is so much more to come!

    • To God be all the Glory! My overall theme here is ‘Renewing & Reclaiming Our Lives in Christ’ I strongly feel it’s a big part to Christ-like living (I’m currently working on a detailed guide on this subject too). When I sat down to pen this piece I had no idea what to write but once I put my fingers to the keys, God took over & it effortlessly flowed – Yes! GOD ALWAYS HELPS US 🙂

      God bless you Steve!

I trust in the same thing almost every day. I just open my mind and see what God has put in my heart. After that, things “get going” inside!

He will guide us through the Holy Spirit, as He has led His followers since the time of Jesus.

The best of success on your spiritual guide, Jennifer…

Jennifer, you are a breath of fresh air to this weary soul, who has now been battling bronchitis for three months. My local medical center didn’t get on top of my sinus infection last fall soon enough. The sinus infection became a flu, which then developed into bronchitis. I have been in and out of the ER at times like a revolving door.

At one point I wrote a pastoral letter to my faithful readers saying I would need to step away for God’s time. Then, a few days later as I was praying over the decline in my health, the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart. My commission was to shine for Jesus in my illness. The truth of this resonated in my heart. If the Lord would give me energy not of my own, what an amazing testimony this would be to those who are struggling! It would be a stab right into the Enemy’s heart.

For months as I have battled illness, I have sought by the abiding grace and life of Christ within me to be that light in the darkness, in the challenges, in the hopelessness and struggles of people’s lives. I have been open, real and vulnerable, showing that I like you am a messy work of our Lord under construction.

I thank my Lord that even as I lay in the adjustable bed that helps me with my breathing, I praise God was provided by Him through the local Lion’s Club! I am still blogging, still striving with all of my heart to continue being one of Christ’s lights.

I am a determined man. Even as I lay in this bed I am doing my M.A. -Ph. D. studies in Clinical Christian Counselling with St. James the Elder Theological Seminary. I am pumped in my spirit about the two A+ marks I received on two major counselling assignments. A loving brother in Christ is paying my tuition! I have told him that I have made a covenant with God that NOT ONE SOUL EVER will be denied counselling because of inability to pay. There are too many Christian counsellors charging so much money for their services, that many people are left without Christian counsellors. Pastors are overloaded. Many are suffering burnout juggling too many demands. Marriages are being ruined by the Enemy, who is a roaring lion seeking whom he will devour. We need to pray for our pastors and all people not to be taken out by that deceiver and the Prince of Liars.

I have read some of your posts. This one is most creative using the weather as a literary device to then write about the kinds of weather we can have in our lives. Your writing is real, intelligent, honest and open. You openly admit that you are a messy woman of God the Lord is working on.

Jennifer, under the divine unction of the Holy Spirit I am being called upon to ask you to become a co-author on Mind’s Seat. Hurting and searching hearts need you desperately. Writing as a co-author will give you the stage of the world to share the thoughts God has put on your heart. In God’s time I also believe a collection of our writings will be made into a book, which you could be a part of.

If you feel a confirmation of this calling, just write a comment after one of his posts, ask Marmar to check out your blog and send you an invitation. Write a profile with the realness of your heart and passion for Christ. Send him that with your profile and you then officially become a co-author. You have many blogs already, that you could use, which many readers will not have seen.

Doors of opportunity have opened up to me through me being a co-author. La Vonne Earl, has been so impressed with the heart I display for Christ in my writing, that she wants me to be an associate of Your Kingdom Inheritance Coaching. While my main calling is a Christian counselling practice, as I make my journey to wellness I can see myself preaching, singing and leading worship in churches.

I am also moving towards becoming an ordained minister.

I share with you the speaking and singing I did at my stepbrother’s church in Toronto. I pray in it you will have refreshment of your spirit for those rainy days.

    • Kevin,

I am truly grateful for your visit and the precious God-given time you spent here. I pray God’s healing over your life – what an amazing story you’ll tell through the Spirit-filled life you live! I commend your drive and passion for the Lord – you are eager to do His work and it shows! I am humbled that the Lord provided you some relief through my blog – glory to God! Helping breathe life into His children is one of the highest honors from the Lord – glory to God! It is an honor I do not take lighty or for granted. For days now, I have prayerfully considered your invitation to co-author at Mind’s seat but at this time I feel Spirit-led to humbly decline. If the Spirit prompts me to join in the near future, I will let you know, God-Willing you’ll still have a place for me. Please know that in everything, I keep an ear to God with the sincere hope that I follow His Will and wait on Him as He guides my path and lights my way, you’re invitation is no exception. I am beyond grateful for the wonderful compliments you’ve given me – all glory to God! I look forward to interacting with you on our blogs and pray blessings over your Spirit-filled work in the Lord.

      God bless you.
